    Join WMBD 31 “On the road” as we salute 15 Central Illinois Communities throughout the summer.  We will be doing our 5 & 6 PM News LIVE from these communities throughout the Summer.

    We’re celebrating 50 years at WMBD 31…  So each week we’ll be giving away $50 Gas Cards, Weather Radios, Six Flags tickets, $50 in gift cards from CEFCU, and a $200 Gift Certificate to Shermans… and at the end of the year a 50 inch HDTV from Shermans.

    When possible, WMBD 31 News this morning will be live from the “community center” (coffee shop or other morning gathering location) in the selected community.  Chuck Collins will do Weather live from the WeatherLab.  Bob Larson and Meg Johnson will do Special Community features and live interviews focusing on the communities.  The local sports features with Kurt Pegler and Rob Coons will showcase the communities teams.  Wrap up of the days activities with a special feature in FOX news @ Nine on WYZZ.


  • Heartland Salutes Metamora

    The strong sense of community, so predominant in Metamora, is no more evident than in the volunteer spirit found here. Resident participation is highly encouraged. In fact, that is what makes this a community in the first place. The history of Metamora is rich. We are fortunate to have people and places to preserve and interpret that history. The Metamora Courthouse State Historic Site (where Abraham Lincoln worked), Lincoln/Douglas Park, the Adlai Stevenson House, Lee Log Cabin, Villiger's Blacksmith Shop, and even the Metamora Village Square, recognize our roots and make the past come alive!
